What? Meeting with town planning engineers.
Where? Town Building, Blacksburg.
Darren and I represented were informed by Chris Lawrence and Cathy Cook about the suitability of our ideas for the burning-book space. Take-home message: our ideas for the burning-book space downtown Blacksburg, including alternative library, possibly bike cooperative, info shop, an gathering place for exchange of constructive ideas, can be pursued in any space downtown that has previously hosted any type of mercantile business. If the space does not have the 'mercantile' label, we would have to carry out extensive modifications, specifically pertaining to accessibility issues, in order to make it comply with the town code.
