What? Appalachian Mountain Square Dancing.
Where? Kipps elementary school, Blacksburg.
Dearest partner in crime T-nutt and I went square dancing to support the fundraising efforts of New River Old Time Music and Dance Association (www.nrot.org). For the exorbitant price of seven bucks, I learned the quintessential square-dancing steps, laughed until it hurt, got to 'swing' a few gals, got a workout, and listened to some kick-ass old time music. Kudos to the band, The Carolina Catbirds, and the caller 'Tom Hinds' for providing the best time I've had in a month.
Make sure that you participate next time. It will be Dec. 1st, 8 pm at Kipps elementary school in Blacksburg. Can't wait.
